This series dives into the idea of God, the face of God, the feeling of God and what that means to me.

Most of my short life, I’ve thought of God as a man because I am a man. Over time as my sensibilities have grown and my perspectives have evolved, I’ve been able to see God in many ways.

This is my interpretation of God and all of her beauty. In the Mother God Series, I want people to feel the love and warmth of a woman. I want them to feel the fierceness, the sternness, yet the softness and the beauty that women emanate.

At this point in my life, I’ve seen and felt the feminine energy of God. It’s left me wanting to express this recent understanding through my art. The action of painting and the realm of art is created from more of feminine energy in my belief.

calin bruett aka jeff k%nz

Calin Geoffrey Bruett is a painter from Champaign, IL, also known as the emcee JEFF K%NZ. He moved to Houston and to Chicago to establish home bases for his career as an artist, with the support of his collective TheGr8Thinkaz

Calin graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 2016 with a Bachelor's in Fine Arts and has since been featured in numerous exhibitions, curated shows and art battles throughout the years. He has painted murals throughout Chicago, as well as in New York City and Los Angeles. Calin is the founder and curator of ‘Think & Paint,' an event that engages local community in conscious conversation and art creation by providing an intimate safe space to exchange perspectives verbally and visually.

Calin’s work is known to be vibrant and loud, yet reflective and detailed. He specializes in portraiture, because it allows him to connect with people and to spend time with their faces, as a way to really think about who they are. Calin wants viewers to see themselves, a friend or a relative in his portraits, and understand how we can all reflect one another whether a facial expression be sad, mad, happy, disappointed or frustrated. The everyday person can admire, connect, and relate to the subjects of Calin's pieces.

In both his music and his art, Calin seeks to encourage his audience to think Gr8 and embody confidence. His motto, "We can all create," encourages us to use our inner power to create the world around us.
